Here is a kitchen tip that earned me a $25 publication in some cooking magazine (I forget the name).

Whenever you are cutting up something really juicy or messy, like fresh peaches during the season, put a sheet pan underneath your cutting board. It will catch all the mess and save a lot of cleanup.
